Mechanical Maintenance Technician

MC Technical Recruitment is currently looking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join a new build power station currently under construction. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to see all the stages of a new build through commissioning & operational start up. This role is a days-based position working a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday.

As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for:

• Carrying out preventative & breakdown maintenance on mechanical & rotating plant equipment
• Maintaining & troubleshooting key systems including cranes, pumps, fans, & drive systems
• Interpreting technical drawings (P&IDs, isometrics) to support fault finding & repairs
• Planning & supporting outages, managing CMMS records, & ensuring equipment compliance
• Providing technical support, supervising contractors, & contributing to continuous improvement & on-call cover
• Other duties as required

To be considered for this role you should have:

• An ONC / City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) & relevant experience
• 3+ years’ experience in power generation or heavy industrial plant maintenance
• The ability to demonstrate familiarity with cranes, mechanical drives, pumps, fans, & rotating machinery
• Skill in reading & interpreting technical drawings including P&IDs & pneumatic/hydraulic schematics
• CMMS systems knowledge, applying health, safety & environmental practices, & following RAMS
