MC Technical Recruitment is currently looking to recruit a Senior HV Protection & Control Engineer to join their Asset Integrity Management team.

This role will involve You'll provide expert technical leadership across HV protection and control systems, supporting assets operating at voltages up to 400 kV. Working closely with engineering, operations and control centre teams.

As a Senior HV Protection & Control Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Act as the technical authority for HV protection and control systems across offshore and onshore assets.
• Support fault investigations through analysis of disturbance records, relay event logs and protection system performance.
• Ensure protection schemes remain compliant with Grid Code requirements, ENA standards and industry best practice.
• Provide technical support to Senior Authorised Persons (SAPs), control centre operations and wider engineering teams.
• Develop and improve protection testing, maintenance and assurance strategies to maximise asset reliability and availability.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across protection philosophies and asset management practices.
• Other duties as required

To be considered for this role you should have:

• Significant experience in HV protection and control within transmission, distribution or offshore wind environments.
• Strong knowledge of protection systems operating up to 400 kV.
• Experience supporting Senior Authorised Persons (SAPs) and control centre operations.
• Proficiency with modern protection relay families and secondary injection/test equipment.
• A solid understanding of Grid Code requirements, ENA standards and protection assurance principles.
• Experience analysing disturbance records, relay event logs and protection behaviour to identify root causes and recommend improvements.
