Operations Team Leader – Waste Management

£37,000 + benefits

MC Technical Recruitment is currently looking to recruit an Operations Team Leader for a leading Waste Management & Resource Recovery site based in Glasgow. The Operations Team Leader will be responsible for safely operating the plant SCADA system, coordinating shift activities, and supporting the efficient, compliant running of site operations.

As an Operations Team Leader you will be responsible for:

• Safely operating the plant via a SCADA system
• Deputising for the Supervisor during periods of absence
• Completing daily checks, ensuring staffing levels are sufficient, and leading shift meetings
• Promoting safety best practice and acting as a safety leader across site
• Completing daily paperwork including checks, defect logs and production records
• Ensuring full compliance with all HSE procedures including LOTO
• Operating the weighbridge and ensuring accurate transactions and reporting
• Maintaining clean, safe work environments across all operational areas
• Supporting general site recycling operations including picking, baler operation and housekeeping
• Undertaking multiskilled duties and training as required

To be considered for this role you should have:

• Experience operating SCADA systems in a continuous production environment
• Previous Team Leader / Supervisory experience
• Strong knowledge of health & safety
• Skilled fixed plant operator, and mobile plant experience also desirable (shovel, FLT, grab)
• Excellent communication and attention to detail
• IOSH qualification
• Experience within a recycling, MRF or waste management environment is desireable
