MC Technical Recruitment is currently working with a specialist engineering business to recruit a Technical Support Engineer. This role will act as the key technical interface between the company and its customers, providing high-level support on products and systems, troubleshooting issues, and advising on system improvements and upgrades.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong electricalbackground who enjoys problem-solving, customer interaction, and becoming a true product expert.
As the Technical Support Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Providing technical support to customers via phone and email, resolving product and system-related queries
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical and controls-based issues
- Acting as a product specialist, developing in-depth knowledge of systems and applications
- Advising customers on system optimisation, upgrades, and new solutions where required
- Supporting internal teams with technical expertise and application guidance
- Producing clear technical documentation and support materials
- Occasionally conducting site visits when necessary
- Attending bespoke product training in Europe (typically once a year)
- This role requires someone who can confidently communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and practical manner.

To be considered for this role you should have:
- A strong background in Electrical Engineering, Controls, Automation or a related discipline
- HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship or Degree qualified (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in a technical support, field service, commissioning or controls-based role
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and control system documentation
- Practical fault-finding and troubleshooting experience
- Strong communication skills with a customer-focused mindset
- Willingness to travel to Europe for product training (approximately once per year
