MC Technical Recruitment is currently looking to recruit a Mechanical Engineer for an Energy Recovery Facility in Glasgow. The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for all aspects of mechanical engineering and maintenance, working closely with the Electrical and C&I Engineers to maximise plant performance.

This role will involve ensuring the long-term availability of the plant, planning and executing maintenance activities, managing the workshops and stores, and supporting health & safety, environmental and financial targets.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Responsible for all aspects of the mechanical engineering and maintenance at the Energy Recovery Facility.
• Working in cooperation with the Electrical and C&I Engineers to maximise plant availability.
• Ensuring the long-term reliability and performance of plant assets.
• Planning, coordinating and executing preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
• Managing the maintenance workshops and spare parts stores.
• Supporting the site's health & safety, environmental and financial performance targets.
• Driving continuous improvement and maintaining high engineering standards.
• Other duties as required

To be considered for this role you should have:

• A recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering (HNC/HND, Degree or equivalent).
• Previous mechanical maintenance experience within a heavy industrial, power generation, Energy from Waste, process, manufacturing or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of planned, preventative and reactive maintenance practices.
• Experience of maintaining and improving the reliability and availability of plant equipment and assets.
• A good understanding of health & safety legislation and environmental compliance within an industrial setting
