Project Manager – Biogas / Gas-to-Grid

£60,000 – £70,000

North of England (Sheffield / Manchester / Leeds)

MC Technical Recruitment is currently looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of biogas upgrading and gas-to-grid projects across the UK.

This role will involve managing complex infrastructure projects from contract award through to commissioning and handover, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and in line with regulatory requirements.

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Delivering biogas upgrading and gas-to-grid projects from contract award through to completion
• Managing EPC/EPCM contracts, including budgets, schedules, and change control
• Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies
• Coordinating internal engineering teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Overseeing technical systems including pre-treatment, upgrading, CO? handling, and grid injection
• Managing interfaces with UK Gas Distribution Networks (SGN, Cadent, NGN, WWU)
• Ensuring compliance with GS(M)R, IGEM, G17, CDM, and HAZOP/HAZID requirements
• Championing health & safety, ensuring RAMS and permits are in place
• Supporting FAT, SAT, commissioning, and project handover

• Other duties as required

To be considered for this role you should have:

• Proven experience as a Project Manager within biogas, gas-to-grid, energy, or process plant projects
• Strong understanding of the UK gas network and regulatory environment
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with clients, regulators, and technical teams
• Strong organisational and programme management skills
• A degree or equivalent in Engineering, Project Management, or similar (desirable)
• PRINCE2, APM, PMP, SMSTS, or NEBOSH qualifications (desirable)
• A proactive, structured, and solutions-focused approach
• Willingness to travel to sites across the UK

The offer:

The package on offer for this role includes a salary of £60,000 – £70,000 depending on experience, plus company benefits including pension & holidays.
