Plant Operations Instructor

MC Technical Recruitment is currently looking to recruit a Plant Operations Instructor on behalf of a major power generation organisation in Ireland.
This role plays a critical part in designing, maintaining, and delivering high-quality power plant operations training to current and future plant operators across conventional thermal and combustion turbine assets.
As the Plant Operations Instructor, you will be responsible for:
- Designing and developing training material for power plant systems including grid-connected generators, steam turbines, gas turbines, and heavy rotating plant
- Delivering plant operations training in both classroom and on-site plant environments
- Training operators across large thermal plants, CCGT, OCGT, and steam turbine assets
- Conducting and assessing students on theory, on-the-job assignments, and practical demonstrations
- Collating assessment results and maintaining accurate training records
- Supporting the use of scheduling systems to maximise training effectiveness and contributing to annual training plans
- Delivering training on main plant systems such as water/steam cycle, air, flue gas, and main drive train
- Delivering training on sub-systems including lube oil, CCW systems, fuel handling, gland steam, etc.
- Other duties as required
To be considered for this role you should have:
- A recognised third-level mechanical or electrical engineering qualification, or an apprenticeship in an electrical/instrumentation discipline
- Knowledge of large thermal plant, hydro plant, steam turbines, and combustion turbines
- Previous experience delivering technical or operational training
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in power plant systems, operations, or maintenance
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation including manuals, P&IDs, and technical drawings
- A full driving license
