Field Service Technician + Van + Overtime

MC Technical Recruitment is currently looking to recruit a Field Service Technician to join an international business specialising in advanced energy and biomethane solutions. With a presence across Europe.

This role will involve working with advanced biomethane upgrading technology, helping customers operate their plants safely, efficiently and reliably. Following a structured onboarding programme, you will take responsibility for a dedicated customer base within your region, building long-term customer relationships and becoming the trusted technical expert for your plants.

As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for:

• Maintaining Gas engines such as Jenbacher, Caterpillar etc
• Carrying out preventive maintenance, inspections and corrective maintenance on biomethane upgrading plants
• Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical and process-related issues
• Troubleshooting PLC-controlled systems, instrumentation, sensors, actuators and field devices
• Servicing compressors, pumps, valves and other plant equipment
• Supporting commissioning, plant upgrades and performance optimisation
• Completing digital service reports and technical documentation
• Planning and preparing spare parts and materials for scheduled maintenance activities
• Providing technical support and advice to customers, working closely with the Service Area Manager and technical support teams
• 1 in 4 on call rota
• Other duties as required

To be considered for this role you should have:

• A technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering or a comparable field
• Need to speak German and English fluently
• Several years' experience in industrial maintenance or field service
• A solid understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
• Basic knowledge of PLCs, frequency converters, instrumentation and process control systems
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
• A customer-focused mindset and excellent communication skills
• Willingness to travel, with an average of up to 10 overnight stays per month
• A valid driver's licence
• The right to work in Germany
