MC Technical Recruitment is currently looking to recruit an Electrical Instructor on behalf of a leading power generation organisation supporting Ireland’s transition to a net zero carbon future.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical professional with a passion for training and knowledge transfer to play a key role in developing technical capability across generation assets.
As the Electrical Instructor, you will be responsible for:
Daily duties
- Delivering technical and electrical training courses to Generation personnel in line with Power Generation Technical Standards, ISO requirements, and Standard Operating Procedures
- Delivering specialist training in electrical switching operations, electrical machinery plant, and generation station electrical practices
- Liaising with internal departments to maintain up-to-date knowledge of systems, products, and industry developments
- Supporting operations and maintenance teams to ensure learning outcomes and course objectives are achieved
- Other duties required
To be considered for this role you should have:
- A recognised third-level engineering qualification or apprenticeship in an electrical or instrumentation discipline
- A minimum of 5 years’ relevant industry experience
- Previous instructor, lecturing, operations, or maintenance experience (highly advantageous)
- Practical experience in troubleshooting, maintenance, or repair of electrical machinery and associated systems
- Experience working with High Voltage and Low Voltage power systems and electrical machinery
Desirable experience includes:
- Experience within a training function or heavy process industry
- Exposure to HV/LV distribution systems, generators, motors, PLCs, control and automation systems
- Experience with electrical protection systems, earthing systems, testing, and isolation procedures
- Proven experience designing and managing training programmes
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and procedures
