Service Engineer – Field Based (Biomass Boilers)

MC Technical Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to join an established and expanding biomass energy company. This role will focus on servicing, maintaining, and fault-finding on industrial biomass steam boiler systems across client sites throughout Scotland.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Performing planned preventative and corrective maintenance on industrial biomass boiler systems
• Responding to equipment breakdowns efficiently and effectively
• Fault-finding on mechanical, electrical, and control systems
• Servicing boilers, feed systems, and fuel storage
• Supporting installation and commissioning works as required
• Hosting and overseeing subcontractors on-site and ensuring compliance with safety protocols
• Completing accurate maintenance logs, reports, and documentation using CMMS
• Working closely with internal teams and customers to ensure excellent service delivery
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
• Participating in training and development activities

To be considered for this role, you should have:

• HND or apprenticeship qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a field service or industrial maintenance role
• Multi-skilled background, with preference for electrical bias
• Experience with steam boilers or biomass/wood pellet systems is desirable
• Understanding of PLCs or control systems
• Previous experience working with customers in a field-based capacity
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility to travel and stay overnight as required (mainly across the Highlands & Islands)
• Full UK Driving Licence
