Plant Operator – Wood Chip Power Plant

MC Technical Recruitment is currently looking to recruit a Plant Operator to carry out routine and maintenance at a Wood chip burning power plant in Milton Earnest, Bedfordshire

As an Plant Operator you will be responsible for:

• The day to day operations of the plant, making regular check of the plant and equipment
• Making adjustments, repairs and service of the equipment to aid the smooth running of the plant
• Monitoring the plant via a SCADA system with training given, maintaining records and reports in various logs eg: daily checks, midnight readings and water sample testing
• Ensuring the plant is operating within its parameters whilst complying with HSE rules
• Maintain site tidiness and general good housekeeping

To be considered for this role you should have:

• Experience working in the industry such as gas or coal power plants, biomass, anaerobic digestion or biogas would be an advantage but not necessary as all training will be given
• Boiler licence or any other relevant power plant accreditation or knowledge
• Previous experience is beneficial but training is a ongoing objective
• Willingness to work rotating 12 hour shifts, 4 on 4 off days and nights

Salary & Benefits

• Starting basic salary of £30,000 which includes a shift allowance and gas a raising scale depending on experience and completion of probation

• 20 days holiday per year
