MC Technical Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join a major power generation business at the Lee Hydro Power Stations in Cork. This role will form a key part of the hydro team, supporting the safe and efficient operation of the Inniscarra and Carrigadrohid stations.
As a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter, you will be responsible for:
- Carrying out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across hydro stations
- Working on turbines, valves, pumps, and heavy mechanical plant equipment
- Using lifting, slinging, and workshop equipment (turning, milling, welding etc.)
- Acting as team leader in a hands-on capacity and supervising maintenance teams when required
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records using the CMMS+ system
- Delivering the full scope of projects including planning, execution, and close-out
- Writing and implementing procedures and working instructions
- Performing authorised roles under site safety rules (safe systems of work)
To be considered for this role you should have:
- FAS / SOLAS / Senior Trade qualification in a mechanical discipline or equivalent experience
- 2+ years’ experience in mechanical fitting within heavy engineering industries (hydro, thermal, renewable generation, or similar)
- Experience with turbines, pumps, gearboxes, and heavy plant equipment
- Experience with Maintenance, Environmental, and Safety Management systems
- Knowledge of plant civil works or technical services is desirable
- Full driving licence
