Mechanical Maintenance Fitter – Hydro Power

MC Technical Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join the team at a hydro power station at Turlough Hill, as well as supporting three traditional hydro stations on the River Liffey. This role will form a key part of the asset management team, ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of hydro generation assets.

As the Mechanical Maintenance Fitter you will be responsible for:

• Carrying out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance activities across hydro stations
• Working on turbines, valves, pumps, gearboxes, and heavy mechanical plant equipment
• Machining, fitting, welding, and workshop activities as required
• Supporting operations, technical services, supervision, and contractor management
• Maintaining accurate records using the CMMS system
• Preparing and implementing procedures, method statements, and risk assessments
• Performing authorised roles under site safety rules

To be considered for this role you should have:

• Minimum 2 years’ hands-on experience in mechanical fitting in an industrial environment
• FAS / SOLAS / Senior Trade qualification in mechanical fitting or equivalent
• Experience in hydro, thermal, or renewable generation plants desirable
• Experience with heavy mechanical equipment, machining, and workshop tools
• Strong safety focus and teamworking skills
• Good IT skills, including CMMS systems
• Full driving licence
