MC Technical Recruitment are working with a leading provider of power generation and gas-to-grid systems to recruit a Mechanical Fitter with welding experience to join their skilled installation and service team. This is a permanent, full-time role involving mechanical installs, pipework, and fabrication both on site and in the workshop.

You’ll be involved in a wide range of mechanical installation and retrofit projects across the UK, including hands-on welding and fabrication work to support new builds and service upgrades.

As the Mechanical Fitter, your responsibilities will include:

• Installing and retrofitting mechanical systems and components across energy sites
• Working on engines, compressors, pumps, pipework, and mechanical assemblies
• Performing welding and fabrication tasks (MIG/TIG/Stick – depending on experience)
• Supporting service and maintenance activities during non-install periods
• Assisting with small workshop-based fabrication and mechanical build projects
• Collaborating with engineers to deliver safe, high-quality installations
• Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety and engineering standards

To be considered, you should have:

• A solid background in mechanical fitting and installation
• Welding experience – ideally MIG and/or TIG (qualifications desirable but not essential)
• Experience with compressors, pumps, engines, and pipework
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
• Good practical skills, flexible approach, and willingness to work on site and in workshop
• A full UK driving licence
