Mechanical Fitter – Waste Management

MC Technical Recruitment is currently seeking to recruit a Mechanical Fitter to join one of the UK’s leading waste management and recycling companies at a Transfer Station near London Bridge.

As the Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for:

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs)
• Completing repairs, modifications, and fabrications on site equipment
• Replacing or adjusting component parts to avoid downtime and ensure efficiency
• Performing mechanical tests in line with regulations
• Responding to breakdowns and providing technical support as needed
• Assisting with risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work
• Working Monday-Friday with overtime opportunities available
• Other duties as required

To be considered for this opportunity, you should have:

• A recognised mechanical qualification (Apprenticeship, NVQ, HNC/HND)
• Background in mobile plant, compactors, or similar industrial equipment
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Good IT skills (Microsoft Office)
• Willingness to work additional hours or attend training, including weekends if required
