MC Technical Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Logistics Manager to join a major data centre construction project in Finsterwalde, Germany.
Working for a leading international engineering contractor, this is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of all site logistics activities on a large-scale data centre project. You will be responsible for coordinating material deliveries, storage areas, site logistics operations, and stakeholder communications to ensure the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the project lifecycle.
As Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Defining and coordinating all available storage areas across the project site
- Allocating storage space in line with project priorities and construction schedules
- Managing the booking, coordination, and delivery of materials to site
- Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, and security personnel to ensure efficient site access and deliveries
- Developing and implementing material call-off systems to optimise delivery schedules
- Coordinating holding areas and delivery routes to minimise site congestion
- Monitoring site logistics operations and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Managing the project delivery booking system and ensuring all deliveries are scheduled appropriately
- Coordinating the movement and storage of materials within site boundaries
- Maximising the utilisation of available plant, lifting equipment, and vertical transportation systems
- Liaising with Appointed Persons, Crane Coordinators, Project Teams, and Contractors to coordinate material movements
- Supporting the planning and execution of major equipment and material deliveries
- Assisting with the management of site traffic and access arrangements
- Maintaining accurate logistics records, reports, and delivery schedules
- Supporting site safety initiatives and ensuring logistics operations comply with project requirements
- Assisting with weekly logistics and delivery coordination meetings
- Monitoring logistics performance and identifying potential risks to programme delivery
- Ensuring housekeeping standards are maintained across storage and logistics areas
- Building strong working relationships with project stakeholders and supply chain partners
- Other duties as required
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- Previous experience in a Logistics Manager, Site Logistics Manager, Construction Logistics, or Materials Management role
- Experience working on large-scale Construction, Engineering, Data Centre, Industrial, or Infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of construction logistics, site operations, and material management
- Experience coordinating deliveries, storage areas, and site access arrangements
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment
- Good understanding of construction methodologies and project delivery processes
Desirable Experience
- Degree or qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Logistics, or a related discipline
- Previous Data Centre construction experience
- First Aid qualification
- Experience managing lifting operations and major equipment deliveries
- Knowledge of resource planning, project scheduling, and construction logistics software
- Experience working on large-scale European construction projects
