Fuel Handling Technician

MC Technical Recruitment is currently looking to recruit a Fuel Handling Technician for a Energy Recovery Facility based in South London.

The main focus of this role will be to manage the day-to-day logistics of deliveries to the site, on-site traffic management, loading and unloading and assisting the operations team as required. 40 hours per week on an early/late shift pattern.

As a Fuel Handling Technician you will be responsible for:

• Managing on-site traffic to ensure safe and efficient movement.
• Operating heavy machinery, including overhead cranes and plant equipment.
• Using forklift trucks and other machinery as required, in line with ERF procedures.
• Performing additional tasks such as weighbridge operation, routine plant inspections, site cleaning, and managing the Tipping Hall.
• Overseeing the fuel reception process and bunker operations during off-peak hours or when required outside regular shifts.

To be considered for this role you should have:

• Proven experience in operating mobile plant equipment.
• Relevant certifications such as Lifting/Slinging, Plant Operation, or Forklift Truck (FLT) licenses.
• Strong understanding of safe systems of work, including permits to work, safety procedures, risk assessments, and related documentation.
• A background in Engineering, Technical, or Operational disciplines, supported by relevant qualifications.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think logically and respond efficiently to operational challenges.
