Electrical Instrumentation & Controls Technician – Power Generation
€43,250 – €48,750 + benefits

MC Technical Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Electrical Instrumentation & Controls Technician to join a major power generation business in Cork. This role will form a key part of the maintenance team, supporting the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of both combined cycle and open cycle gas turbines.
As the Electrical Instrumentation & Controls Technician you will be responsible for:
- Carrying out planned and reactive EC&I maintenance activities
- Installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and commissioning plant equipment and assets
- Working with pneumatic, electronic, PLC, and DCS systems, as well as LV/MV electrical equipment
- Maintaining accurate records using the CMMS system
- Preparing and reviewing task-specific method statements and risk assessments
- Writing and implementing procedures and working instructions
- Mentoring apprentices and liaising with contractors/vendors
- Performing authorised roles under site safety rules (safe systems of work)
To be considered for this role you should have:
- Electrical Instrumentation craft qualification or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation, electrical, and control systems in an industrial environment
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and P&IDs
- Experience with instrumentation calibration and electrical test equipment
- Full driving licence
- 2+ years’ experience in thermal, hydro, or renewable generation plant maintenance (or similar industry)
- Experience with commissioning activities and knowledge of LOTO and permitting systems desirable
- Experience in Maintenance, Environmental, and Safety Management systems
- Plant technical services or supervisory experience
