Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Technician – Hydro Power

€43,250 – €48,750 + benefits

MC Technical Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Technician to join the team at Ireland’s only pumped storage hydro power station at Turlough Hill, as well as supporting three traditional hydro stations on the River Liffey. This role will form a key part of the asset management team, ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of hydro generation assets.

As the EC&I Technician you will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out planned and reactive EC&I maintenance across hydro stations
  • Troubleshooting, testing, repairing, and commissioning EC&I equipment
  • Working with HV/MV/LV electrical systems and control/instrumentation systems
  • Supporting operations, technical services, supervision, and contractor management
  • Maintaining accurate records using the CMMS system
  • Preparing and implementing procedures, method statements, and risk assessments
  • Performing authorised roles under site safety rules

To be considered for this role you should have:

  • Minimum 2 years’ hands-on EC&I maintenance in an industrial environment
  • FAS / SOLAS / Senior Trade qualification in electrical, controls or instrumentation discipline
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HV/MV/LV electrical and C&I systems
  • Experience with electrical schematics, calibration, and test equipment
  • Good IT skills, including CMMS systems
  • Experience in hydro, thermal, or renewable generation plants desirable
  • Full driving licence
