Electrical & Instrumentation Technician – Hydro Power

€43,250 – €48,750 + benefits

MC Technical Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join a major power generation business at the Donegal Hydro Power Stations. This role will form a key part of the hydro team, supporting the safe and efficient operation of the Clady, Cathaleen’s Fall, and Cliff stations.

As the Electrical & Instrumentation Technician, you will be responsible for:

• Carrying out planned and reactive EC&I maintenance across hydro stations
• Performing all aspects of electrical and instrumentation work in an industrial environment
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records using the CMMS+ system
• Writing and implementing procedures and working instructions
• Supervising and directing contractors as required
• Acting as team leader in a hands-on capacity when necessary
• Carrying out authorised roles including work controller under the safety rules (safe systems of work)
• Supporting environmental, health, safety, and quality management responsibilities

To be considered for this role you should have:

• 2+ years’ experience in electrical / control & instrumentation maintenance in an industrial environment
• FAS / SOLAS / Senior Trade qualification in Electrical & Instrumentation or equivalent
• Demonstrated knowledge of HV/MV/LV electrical systems and C&I systems
• Understanding of mechanical, heavy rotational, and pressure systems desirable
• Full driving licence
