Data Center Planner

Location: London / Essex (multiple work locations) Experience Required: 5+ years

About the Role

We are looking for experienced Data Center Planners to join our team, working across multiple sites in the London and Essex area. This is an excellent opportunity for a planning professional with a strong background in data center construction or fit-out projects to play a key role in the successful delivery of critical infrastructure projects.

As a Data Center Planner, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and reporting on project programmes across various stages of data center construction — from initial design through to commissioning and handover. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure schedules are realistic, risks are identified early, and projects are delivered on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project programmes/schedules using planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or Asta Powerproject)
  • Monitor progress against baseline programmes and report on variances
  • Identify scheduling risks, delays, and critical path issues, and propose mitigation strategies
  • Liaise with project managers, site teams, and subcontractors to gather progress updates and align programme data
  • Produce regular progress reports, look-ahead schedules, and programme narratives for internal and client stakeholders
  • Support the tender/bid process with programme development where required
  • Attend project and client meetings to present programme updates
  • Ensure programmes reflect design changes, procurement timelines, and construction sequencing accurately
  • Work across multiple live sites/projects simultaneously in the London and Essex region

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a planning role, ideally within data center, mission-critical, or large-scale construction/M&E projects
  • Proficient in planning software such as Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, or MS Project
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, particularly M&E and fit-out phases relevant to data centers
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex programme data
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present to stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to travel between multiple sites across London and Essex as required
  • Relevant qualification in construction management, engineering, or a related field is desirable
  • Data center sector experience strongly preferred

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary, dependent on experience (banding to be confirmed)
  • Opportunity to work on high-profile, mission-critical projects
  • Career development within a growing sector
  • Supportive team environment across multiple project sites
